IAHCSMM is aware that it is a challenge to replace the connections and interactions that only an in-person meeting can provide. Although circumstances beyond anyone’s control prevented the in-person Conference & Expo from taking place this year, IAHCSMM wants to help maintain those customer relationships for you. Exhibitors previously registered for 2020 IAHCSMM Annual Conference & Expo are immediately eligible to join the 2020 IAHCSMM Virtual Conference. Exhibitors may continue to join the virtual conference at any time during its duration, but please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for the building of your page to be completed.

There are many aspects that should be considered when planning a live event on-line. This is a basic guide for considering various aspects to help produce a successful live virtual expo.
Live event streaming has been around since shortly after the internet provided the viewing of video; however, there are two key changes when converting a face-to-face show to a virtual or online interactive experience that should be taken under consideration. First, remember that the luxury of meeting a customer in-person on the show floor would now be replaced with a well-executed half-hour of seamless and inviting content. Secondly, on the marketing side, the conference attendees should feel they are being engaged in an enjoyable and personable manner rather than high-pressure sales pitches, as it is easier to turn a video off than it is to walk away from a conversation.
Because IAHCSMM is planning an online gathering for the entire 35,000+ membership community, we have created a platform for exhibitors to help alleviate a large amount of the headaches that could surface during your planning and preparation stages.
Cancelled Face-to-Face Annual Conference - Chicago, Illinois
For weeks, the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) had been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and its impact on the upcoming IAHCSMM Annual Conference & Expo, which was to be held in Chicago, Illinois, April 25-29, 2020. On March 13, the IAHCSMM Board of Directors made the decision to cancel the conference due to health and wellness concerns for attendees and the community.
The safety and well-being of our attendees, vendors, speakers and community has always been IAHCSMM’s top priority. Cancelling our conference and expo was determined by IAHCSMM as the only prudent option and is in keeping with the Association’s mission and values of improving patient safety and meeting the needs of the healthcare environment.
We understand many of you will have questions about our decision process, and how it affects all those directly involved with a cancelled face-to-face conference. Please review the provided links to our official statement and frequently asked questions.
