Certification Council Nominations
The Certification Council is now accepting nominations to fill three upcoming positions. The terms and responsibilities of the positions are as follows:
3 year term
Certificant Representatives are voting members who serve to represent those who hold certifications granted by IAHCSMM and the Certification Council.
Certificant representatives will hold credentials issued by the CC and be members of IAHCSMM. All certificant representatives will hold the CRCST credential in good standing. At least 1 certificant representative will be CIS certified, at least 1 certificant representative will be CER certified, and at least 1 certificant representative will be CHL certified so that all of the credentials will be represented on the Certification Council.
Previous experience as a test development committee member, or Subject Matter Expert (SME), is preferred, but not required. A minimum of 3-5 years of Central Service / Sterile Processing experience is also preferred, but not required, as is a minimum of 3-5 years of certification.
2 year term
Industry Stakeholders are voting members who serve to represent appropriate stakeholder groups such as (but not limited to) hospital administrators, infection control specialists, or representatives from such associations as AAMI, AHRMM, AORN, AST, or SGNA. Specific stakeholder groups represented may vary over time.
Industry stakeholders may be IAHCSMM members, but membership is not required.
2 year term
Public Members are voting members who serve to represent the interests of surgical patients. Individuals who have been surgical patients and/or who have experience with patient advocacy are preferred. Knowledge of certification programs is not required, but previous board/council experience is preferred.
Public members may not be IAHCSMM members or certificants, a part of the Central Service / Sterile Processing profession, an employee or employer or CS/SP professionals, or have credentials similar to those granted by the Certification Council.
Individuals are welcome to nominate themselves or a colleague/co-worker. Individuals who accept a nomination will be asked to submit additional background information. Nominations may be submitted online, using the form below, and will be accepted through September 30, 2019. The nominating committee will inform applicants if they have qualified in October, and voting will then take place in December. Nominees will be notified of the election results the first week of January.
