Educator, Sterile Processing & Support
We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Development/Support
Services Department for an individual to coordinate instructional
curriculum and support evidence-based practice to enhance learner's
competence. This includes assessing, planning, implementing
and evaluating education and training of Sterile Processing
and Support staff members to ensure professional development,
as well as coordinating the research, evaluation and inservicing
of new products.
To qualify, you should be a self-directed and motivated professional
with experience as a Surgical Technologist and Sterile Processing
Technician or Instrument Specialist, along with a current Central
Supply Certification. An RN with OR experience whose looking
for a new challenge will also be considered. Knowledge of adult
learning principles and experience coordinating/teaching education
programs is also necessary, as are technical computer skills,
excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to teach in
formal and informal settings. A Bachelor's degree is preferred,
but an Associate's degree and current enrollment in a baccalaureate
program will be accepted.

sterilize, store, and dispense/deliver/restock equipment and
supplies according to prescribed procedure and aseptic techniques.
Minimum of two years work experience with aseptic techniques
and procedures preferred. Knowledge of sterilization techniques
and procedures, infection control, workflow principles and
requirements, equipment and instruments, and supply processing,
including cleaning and assembly, is preferred. Knowledge of
surgical supplies in order to pull surgery cases is preferred,
but not required. Must know or learn terminology of the department
with numerous synonyms.
This is a full time, 3pm-11:30pm position. Must be able to
work every other weekend and some Holidays.
