The purpose of the IAHCSMM Discussion Forum is to engage in friendly and professional discussions among your colleagues, and to share knowledge about Central Service issues on a peer-to-peer basis.  The Discussion Forum is not to be construed as an “Ask the Expert” platform, and technical questions should first be addressed to the device and product manufacturers’ instructions, AAMI Standards, Federal and State Regulations, other professional guidelines, and  hospital policies and procedures.

Discussion Forum participants must follow these guidelines to keep the discussions professional and friendly for all users at all times.  Under no circumstances will any of the following be tolerated or considered permissible on the IAHCSMM Discussion Forum (violators are subject to denial of admittance for any infraction, at the discretion of Discussion Forum moderators):

  1. Being negative or hateful toward an individual or specific group of people
  1. Swearing, using hate-speech, or making obscene or vulgar comments
  1. Breaking the law (including breach of copyright, defamation, condoning or promoting illegal activity and contempt of court, by making posts that could affect the outcome of an impending court action)
  1. Advertising
  1. Impersonating or falsely claiming to represent a person or organization.
  1. Invading someone’s privacy (do not post anyone’s personal details, including contact information, and for personal safety, you are encouraged as a user to not post any personal information about yourself)   Posting of personal pictures is not permitted.
  1. Product-specific posts such as specific brand names, catalog numbers, photos of specific products, or other information that identifies a specific product.
  1. Personal attacks on other members.  Postings that reflect a tone of attack are not allowed.  Discussions, opinions and debates are welcome, but please keep your posts focused on the ideas you are trying to communicate.  Be respectful of others. 
  1. Insulting, threatening, or provoking another person
  1. Spamming

Moderators are monitoring the discussion forum. If you break the rules, the moderator has the right to remove part or all of your post without warning. It is also within the Moderators rights to remove part or all of your post for any reason that they see fit, however be assured that they will only ever do so with good reason.

New Registrations:

  • Our policy is to not approve any applications with "disposable" email addresses (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc.)
  • This is due to the high level of spammers who apply and then post SPAM on our discussion forum, because of the throw-away email accounts they then can not be tracked.
  • You need to apply with either a hospital, organizational, or IP-type email address (myhospital.org, comcast, AOL, sbcglobal, etc) for approval.

Final Note – This Web site is private property. We reserve the right to delete any post or ban any user for any reason whatsoever, even if not specifically covered in these guidelines.
