Air Exchange/Decantam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new 7th edition did not help to explan air exchanges to our Maint Dept
My quetion is ? Do'es Maint. check air flow in decan. and Ster. on regular basis. (Once a month) If so when and how ? My Sterile only has a supply vent and no exaust, So how do they get the air exchanges ? The Sterile/Packaging room is Pos. so they think (WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT) Another question ? Should Sterile have a supply vent and a exaust vent. I understand the 10 air exchanges. I have only 1(one) yes 1 air exchange in the decantam. I don't know how many is in processing. No where have I found information saying how many vents and what they do anywere. any and all info appresiated.
P.S. I'm not so good at computers and spelling so be kind. Thanks !!

James:

AAMI ST79 3.3.6.4 addresses the ventilation recommendations for CS facilities.

I hope this helps.

Can any one tell me how and when the maint.dept. checks air changes? Another Question- Is there suppose to be two vents in a room (processing) so they can check supply and exaust to get the CFMs.I have only one supply vent so I have a pos. room. In decontam I have two vents but it is only 1 air exchange per hour so that makes it neg.. Any help on the literature of this would be GREAT. Thanks Jim
