How does the rest of the world monitor for outdates?:confused:

With shelf stock, everyone understands the FIFO system, we look when restocking as some items will arrive with an earlier date than what's on the shelf. We also do a periodic check when stocking case carts. Core handles their own outdates.
After last year's JCAHO visit.....crash carts are now checked by a designated person from our department, one fourth of the total carts quarterly, the first Tuesday of the quarter, with any items dated to expire before the next scheduled check, replaced.

Does your MM software have any tracking capability.

No tracking system in our SPD, yet......just participated in a web meeting with Stryker/Rosebud about their module for tracking crash carts.....sounds like it will help with outdate situations.
