Are you assembling brun packs? If so what's the contents of the pack? How is the linen processed washed) and by whom with what type(s) of detergent, and do you sterilize the packs in your department?

thanks

We do sterilize burn packs, although they are used very rarely as we are not a burn center and often times stabilize and ship any patient with burns. We keep two available at all times, one in C.S. and one in the E.R. They contain a full set of bed linens, two bath towels, four wash cloths, and 2 blankets. They are laundered the same as the rest of the in house linen, which is shipped to a laundering service and returned twice a week. I am not sure what type(s) of detergent they are using, and we do sterilize them in C.S. This may not be the kind of info you are looking for, but I hope it helps a little!

Thanks Sonny 1388.. I spoke with the company that processes our linen. They use a neutral pH detergent and rinse the items three times (they refer to it as a hypoallergenic pack).:)
