Which is the correct word to use when describing materials related to SPD case carts or OR supplies? When is it appropriate to use Materiels?
materials Tools or apparatus for the performance of a given task: writing materials.
ma·te·ri·el or ma·té·ri·el The equipment, apparatus, and supplies of a military force or other organization.
They both mean the same thing. Use them interchangably. Materiels is not a word. Materiel is already plural.

Materiel seems old school to me, like theatre instead of theater. Fancy, but not necessary (and to me, it just looks odd!)
