Can everyone share with me if they do a "visual read" on the Attest at 24 hours for flash, 48 for prevac? Is it really necessary? Thanks

Our policy states that we do a visual color read on our controls in 24 hours but not on the actual bio test.

we only do a visual read on the control not the actual test. For some on the rapid biological out there the visual read for the test biologicals is 7 days.

I believe the time should be what the manufacturer of your BI recommends and is approved for. We check for a visual on our control but it usually occurs prior to 24 hours. We do this because of a inservice I went to. The presenter recommended it just to be sure there is not an error with your attest reader.

In my departments we incubate the RR bio tests for 24 hours, as well as the Control, and check for a color change.
