Nylon-head Mallet!

The nylon-head mallet is known by all of us here I suppose. How do you sterilize it? With the nylon on or off? I tried to contact different manufacturers but with no answer. I was looking at the anatomy of a nylon-head mallet, and it seems not appropriate to sterilize it with the head on. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for your answers.

We remove it as well as any thing elsa as we were taught in the c s course if it comes apart we take it apart cause it it is not clean you can not get it sterile.
