I have 2 questions that I could really use some feedback on.
1. Is it acceptable practice to put instruments in a towel and roll it up, and place in a tray with other instrumentation for sterilization?
2. Is it considered "poor practice" to use ID tape on peel pouched instruments?
At the hospital I work at, the belief here is ID tape should not be used. Since I am new and not familiar with such a taboo, I instructed my staff to correctly apply a piece of tape to a loaner drill so that we could identify it as a loaner. The emails have been flying!
Any thoughts or written recommendations or standards I can be refered to?
I am hoping our CPD Guy will advise me.
