Connecticut

Certification legislation was introduced on February 27, 2014.

  • SB.300 - provides for the certification of central service technicians and imposes continuing education requirements.
    • On March 21, 2014, the Joint Public Health Committee passed the bill unanimously.

Massachusetts

Certificatiaon legislation was introduced on October 3, 2013.

  • S.1886 - provides for the certificiation of central service technicians and imposes continuing education requirements. 
    • This bill had a Joint Public Health Committee hearing on November 19, 2013. 
    • The committee did not vote this bill out by the deadline; however, it will study the issue for the next couple of months.

New Jersey

New York

Our certification legislation was signed into law on July 31, 2013.  This bill takes effect on Jan. 1, 2015.

Oklahoma

Certification legislation was introduced on February 3, 2014.

  • HB.2670 - provides for the certification of central service technicians and imposes continuing education requirements.
    • On February 26, 2014, this bill was heard by the House Economic Development and Financial Services Committee.  The bill failed to pass committee.

Pennsylvania

Certification legislation was introduced on March 17, 2014.

  • HB.2105 - provides for the certification of central service technicians and imposes continuing education requirements.
    • On April 9, 2014, this bill will be voted on by the House Health Committee.
