Dear IAHCSMM Member,
The IAHCSMM Executive Board has approved a change to its alternative certification process. After the May 15, 2011, sunset date, IAHCSMM will reinstate a processing fee for those wishing to transfer certification to IAHCSMM. The $105 fee will include a one-year membership to IAHCSMM. As always, those wishing to transfer their certification to IAHCSMM may do so without the need for re-testing.
While a fee had historically been charged for processing alternative certification applications, IAHCSMM made the decision to temporarily suspend the charge as a promotion to welcome new members. Shortly after the fee suspension was implemented, IAHCSMM then merged with the American Society for Healthcare Central Service Professionals, and the free transfer promotion was extended as a courtesy to allow former ASHCSP members (and others) to easily transfer their certification to IAHCSMM.
IAHCSMM's certification programs are the most highly recognized for quality and thoroughness within the healthcare industry. If you currently hold alternative certification, but wish to join the thousands of IAHCSMM members who hold the Certified Registered Central Service Technician designation, and other IAHCSMM certifications, you may review the certification transfer requirements on IAHCSMM’s website (www.iahcsmm.org) and download the Alternative Certification Form (these materials may be accessed by clicking on “Certification” in the left-hand toolbar, then clicking on ‘Transfer Certification to IAHCSMM”).
