We held our Fall Workshop on October 1, 2011, in Marshfield, WI. We offered 5 CE points for our attendees. The topics that were presented from our wonderful, knowledgeable speakers were information on Biofilms, Reduction of Immediate Use Sterilization, Sterilization – Test Your Knowledge, and a Healthcare Humorist.

We wish to thank our speakers for a great day and sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. We would also like to thank our vendors and sponsors for helping to make this day possible. Everyone enjoyed wearing their favorite team’s jerseys and the workshop committee wore Packer jerseys in recognition of the Green Bay Packers winning the Super Bowl this year.

On November 18, 2011, the Chapter Board of Directors and the Workshop Planning Committee will be meeting for a retreat to develop bylaw changes for membership vote at our December meeting. We will also complete our workshop wrap up report from our October 2011 workshop and kick-off plans and assignments for our next workshop. The retreat will be held at Fisher’s Resort in Rhinelander.

Our next chapter meeting will be on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Our host site will be Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire, formerly known as Luther Hospital. We will have a speaker from Eco Lab, Kirsten Thompson. She will present "New Technologies and Best Practices in Central Sterile Disinfection." This has been approved for 1 CE point from IAHCSMM and CBSPD.

Other upcoming chapter meetings are February 16, 2012 at Marshfield Clinic – Eau Claire Center, speaker is TBD. On June 12, 2012 in Marshfield, WI, Mobile Instruments will be doing a presentation.

Our spring workshop is set for March 31, 2012, to be held in Weston, WI. Our theme "Don't be Fooled by What You Can't See" seems appropriate for the day before April Fool’s Day. SAVE THE DATE and look for upcoming information. We hope to see you there!
